Halloween 2009
It was a quiet night – not what I had planned but there wasn’t much I could do about it. Amelia and I had planned a lot of things. Chanel would “trick or treat” with us and we had bought her a cute Snow White costume to wear. Anabelle was going as a ballerina in the pretty pink tutu we had put together. Amelia was going as a Brat Girl and I was going as a rock star. It was all supposed to be so much fun and we were so excited. But one by one our plans fell apart till we were left with just Ira, I, the pups and a long night of movies and medicine. Oh, and how could I forget – Mr. B. Jun!

Of course we couldn’t have Amelia come this weekend, but oh, how I hate to miss any time with her. Resigned to a much different evening than we had planned, we resolved to make the best of it. Two large pizza’s were delivered, and the moment the delivery man left, we turned off all our outside lights and pulled down all the shades so that the “trick or treaters” would not come to the door. To my surprise there were hardly any in our neighborhood anyway. It was such a very quiet night and I’m sure people were finding alternative ways to celebrate Halloween – safer – meaning less chance of catching and spreading flu germs.

We watched a scary movie – “200 Feet,” after all – it was Halloween, and sipped pop and nibbled on pizza. Neither of us have much of an appetite though. Looking around my living room I was telling Ira I must have had a premonition about Halloween. I realized unlike previous years, I have not put out one single holiday decoration! Weird since my house is always fulled with ghosts, goblins, pumpkins and witches. Less work for me and that’s just fine I guess.
Thanksgiving. Our next holiday. We don’t have any solid plans as of yet – probably something with Sharon and the kids. Should be fun – Amelia will love it – she adores her cousins. I hope it’s more exciting than Halloween was.
Ciao for now, bedtime finally.
